On January 15, representatives of Tibet Autonomous Region People's Political Consultative Conference came to Zhol City (also known as Snow City) under Potala Palace to know about heritage preservation there. With 70 million yuan from the central government, the preservation and maintainance project of Zhol City finished construction on May, 2007 and Zhol City began to open to the public at the same time.
